Kia’s all new JB series Rio replaces the previous model’s plump silhouette, with a
leaner, fresher style. Under the bonnet a 1.6 litre engine, featuring variable valve timing,provides an extra 8kW, while a 90mm longer wheelbase adds interior space. Hatchback versions are shorter than the old series, but the sedan has grown 25mm in length. There are substantial improvements in build quality, and Kia’s “drive-away” pricing will provide extra appeal at this cost conscious end of the market.
